2024-07-14 (Su) GrinderCompassMKIII REV17 Draft

REV13 through REV16, the type with multiple magnets in the spinner, lacked feedback. The spinner was designed so a bolt sticking up from the case would not hit the interior walls, but if the spinner and case are rigidly connected, as they are, they cannot collide. I have been devising a spinner suspended on brass wires, but today, I sketched the parts and envisioned how they would fit together.

I sketched out the next spinner iteration, using brass springs to keep it in place but letting it wobble. Brass should be suitable as a long-term spring, which I cannot say about a rubber band.
