2025-01-03 (F) Weekly Summary

I made a block that will fit over the guitar controller's neck. The stock head was larger than necessary and purely decorative, and I wanted something that helped disguise the game controller's original function.
Clean rounded corners

I added text with my slicing software and printed the entire model. I considered starting with a small portion to confirm that it would fit, but I went for it, and my measurements worked perfectly! I went over the letters with a black marker.
New guitar head

I had a pile of minor tweaks and fixes. I got the whammy bar to send pitch-bending signals, and the lights now work when I use PANIC mode or strum the paddle switch. The last change that I was excited to implement was using the "Start" and "Back" buttons to change instruments. These new buttons made more sense on the guitar controller's Wii version, which had "+" and "-" labels.
Cycling lights

I had just enough memory for a second mode which did not use scales, but I could still change up to an octave by pressing multiple keys. Instead of using binary sequences, which would have 32 combinations on five buttons, I used a selection of 12 simple combinations. While I added the new code, I revised and streamlined some of the previous code.
Ham-Fisted mode

I made a script for the final recording when I will use a clothes closet to dampen unwanted sounds like city noise and echo. The script touched on the critical functions and uses of the guitar.

I completed the EWC_Noodle, uploaded the most recent files to GitHub, and recorded a video in my closet. There were no echoes, and I experimented to see how high I could turn the volume to cover the button clacking.
