Recording on chapter 03 would have started right away but after hearing some tips from Sarah White time was dedicated to improving the recording situation. Sarah White has been the biggest supporter of Charged and designed my business cards from scratch. Sarah White is an artist I support. Strangely, her recording tips were not meant for this audio book, nor were they given recently. While discussing audio recording a couple years ago she gave me some tips about sound isolating and I decided it would be a good idea to surround myself with cloth rather than a room built for echoes.

A tall shelf which held A/V equipment and project parts had not been set up yet so it was reconstructed with only two shelves right at the top. This created a covered area which allowed sound dampening material, flannel sheets and a sleeping bag, to hang from the sides. A terry cloth towel was draped over the top but not secured in case heat build-up became an issue.

Nothing was secured at the bottom so the material could be pulled aside for access. Cats were delighted to have a shady place to dart around and hanging sheets to pounce at.
