After equipment delays it was nice to be recording again. Sound insulation in the new space was incredible but the comfort was significantly lower. Chapter seven recording was started but the end of the chapter hasn’t been decided so there’s no definite length.
Another equipment problem was some clicking noises in the microphone which was the fault of the keyboard. The key presses were audible so a silicone keyboard was used. This keyboard was the victim of an unpublished project which involved cutting the keyboard in half. Fortunately the necessary keys were all on the same side of the keyboard so they were intact. Unfortunately the keyboard didn’t work or wouldn’t work with the Mac. The solution was to hold the keyboard off of the desk platform and press the key gently.
The first technique was to record a single sentence at a time then stop recording and start a new recording for the next sentence. This was simple with the Bandcamp software and allowed single sentences to be deleted easily. Misspoken sentences, there have been a lot, were simply selected and deleted. The new technique was to record a paragraph at a time and break up the single recording only if there was a problem. This allowed for more natural pacing and faster progress. Audacity didn’t seem to make this as easy.
To do:
Today’s word count: 0 - 0 = 0 words
Total word count: 27 240 + 60 228 + 83 897 = 171 365 words
