I made a reservation for the laser cutter at my hackspace. I brought an acrylic sheet, but I found a scrap to cut for my faceplate. If nothing else, the spare plastic would be a test run before I cut my own. The first time I found that my footprint for the screen was too tight and wouldn't fit. The same was true of my voltage readout. Since I had my laptop, I edited the footprints, added the updated ones to the layout, and then cut a revised faceplate. This time, all my devices fit.
