At the end of my last coding session, I had an issue where my screen was blank at startup, and I assumed I created some malicious code in a sleepy fit. It turned out that I left the panic button pressed, but it only triggered a warning screen during a rising edge and therefore got ignored during startup. I knew this would confuse me later, so now I check the button status during startup.
I tried to calculate the likelihood of a note playing by dividing and multiplying integers, but the truncation made it sloppy. I wrote a function that received the integers, converted them to floats, and compared the result to a float. The algorithm returned a boolean of true or false, depending on the comparison to a pseudo-random number.
