I had a phone call with a visual artist friend, and we talked for nearly two hours about turning Gravy Shock into a comic. She is part of a team that has funded a few indie series through Kickstarter. Even though she seemed excited about the idea, I insisted she read my drafts before talking to her editor.
I haven't released my draft on this blog because there are story elements far outside my wheelhouse. One of the characters is nonbinary, and I will need consulting to write this character correctly. Another one is asexual, albeit for sci-fi reasons. I want to translate what it means to be human for everyone in the story, but I need perspectives outside my own.
