I made a first draft of the code where I combined two examples. The first example was Arduino's keyboard example. Next, I used Adafruit's MPR121 library and sketch. I glued the two together with a switch...case statement.
I made necessary updates to the enclosure, like moving the button window and adding a bottom layer. The top now has countersunk bolt holes, and the bottom has hexagon holes to hold the nuts.
I finished the 24EngSilentKeyboard. Hooray! The case building was 95% of the project, but I'm happy with how it looks. Maybe I could sand down the sharp corners, but now I can start recording with a light touch on a keyboard with no moving parts.
When I listened to another popular podcast, I realized that I wasn't introducing myself or the story well, so I put down some monologue to help listeners understand what they're getting into and then thanks them for listening.
Most of the time, I record a sentence or two, pause, and continue. If I hear myself make a blunder, I delete the last take and start again. I went back several times for the introduction narration because I wanted to give this the utmost care as I may use it at the start of each episode.
After all the care I spent on the introduction narration, I decided I was getting hung up on the polish. I should focus on the first pass at the voice play and plan to go back to the early stuff and revise.
