I made a converter from a headphone plug to a MIDI port, but I couldn't fit that hardware inside my timer box. I printed an enclosure for the sockets and planned to plug in with ordinary cables. I am worried that the unshielded adapter will invite noise. If interference becomes a problem, I can wrap it in aluminum tape or coat the inside with tape. I designed the enclosure to match my bolt length so the tips would rest flush with the headphone end, where the nuts were embedded. I am happy with how solid this adapter feels.
