I created four cards with unique backs and faces to award players when they win the game. Each card has a peaceful-looking mansion and a text blurb about how they solved the haunting.
I designed the top lid for a box to hold the game. I picked a haunted house picture for the face, enlarged it, and added blur for the sides. Most of the relevant information will be on the back.
I'm wrapping up this chapter of the game creation. I finished the box by creating a couple of icons that describe the time and players because nothing online caught my eye. There is playtesting I can do, but my beta copy won't arrive for a month.
I converted one of the external house shots to black and white and added text so I could laser engrave a wooden box to store the prototyping parts.
To make the top look decent, I printed over the sides. Any discrepancy would be blatant if I tried to create a border or stop before the edges, but I think this looks wonderful.
I finished the box with a cherry stain and this time I wore gloves. It might have looked nicer with a darker color, but the engraving wasn't strong enough, and it might have just looked mottled.
