I tried to check my operator settings by connecting a MIDI synth but could not get any data. I connected my tester, and it showed that my wiring was backward. I brought the unit to the maker space, opened the enclosure, and swapped the wires. My tester gave a green light, and I got sound when I reconnected the synth.
I continued working on the operator misalignment issue by renumbering the inputs so the top operator controlled the upper setting and down the column. I also swapped the caps to correct the color order. I still had to contend with the encoders and their absolute position talking to my code that wanted to reset with each mode change.
