I reconsidered cutting a copy of the damage tracking tiles on the laser engraver since I had it out for another project. I made four copies, enough for each player, plus a few spare chits in case they got lost. I painted the bottom disc red, which will be visible when the chits get removed. I painted the star-shaped top yellow, but some soot got mixed in, so it was smudgy. The chits received a layer of black paint. The overall look when a ship is healthy will be a black/yellow caution pattern, but a heavily damage ship will be an alarming red/yellow.
