The spinner was still a little distorted, so my changes were incorrect. I proceeded with spring construction by making a couple of loops with 0.51mm diameter brass rods. I formed them around the bolts and soldered the ends where they would be hidden. I did not want solder joints in the middle because they would have a different stiffness than the unaltered wire. The grooves in the axle holder were not large enough for the wire, so revising is needed.
