2024-08-01 (Th) GrinderCompassMKIII Assembling the new parts

I cleaned and cured my new shell parts. They were noticeably larger than the previous version. The latest version used a brass fastener at the top and bottom, and I think the brass/white color combination is striking.

Getting the axle installed was arduous. It took me considerably longer to install the spinner with flexible spokes than the rigid version. When I held the compass at an angle, it was easy to see the spinner change orientation relative to the shell. The 0.5 mm spokes were too pliant to contain the spinner, but the 3.00 mm thick version kept close to the center. I should be able to fine-tune for a usable spinner even when I miniaturize.
