2024-09-30 (M) GrinderCompassMKIII Buoy model

I started modeling the device with the buoy. I made it pill-shaped with a spherical top, bottom, and cylindrical center. At the top is a threaded socket where I will install a threaded rod, smooth rod, or long bolt. The bottom is a drainage hole, but I will seal that with resin after cleaning.

The more I think about the design, the more I believe I will start with a buoy with a magnet inside. I can make it longer for added floatation, and since the magnet gets sealed up, I can use any liquid compatible with the plastic.
