2024-11-13 (W) EWC_Noodle Modeling a speaker bezel

I mounted the speakers into the guitar body by drilling a circular hole with a step-bit, but they were not fully exposed, and one of them collided with the rear-mounted power switch. I needed to mount them so they were not fully inside the controller. Drilling circular holes was easy, but making neat square holes in an uneven surface would be almost impossible with my tools. I modeled a bezel to go around the square speaker and align with the mounting holes.

I made the model by drafting the outline in QCAD and extruding it in OpenSCAD. There was an issue with the rounded screw ears, but I fixed that by replacing the trimmed circles with arcs.
