I wanted to check the connections on my IO expanders, so I uploaded an example code, but the Arduino could not communicate with the first IO board or the second. I reran the I₂C scanner but could not detect the screen or expanders. I know the wiring is correct, so there may be some conflict with devices or electromagnetic interference on the unshielded, untwisted data lines. I struggled with the problem by confirming the code, unplugging the screen, and pressing multiple buttons.
