I soldered a single-channel optoisolator to the prototyping PCB and added the necessary resistors for the Rx circuit. There was also a resistor on the TX circuit. I followed my schematic, but I had to look up the datasheet for the optoisolator.
I ran wires to the DIN sockets. I am trying to remember if I arranged the wires according to an internal or external view, so I guessed. The next step is testing the circuits with MIDI devices, testing apparatus, and a laptop.
